  • The North West Evening Mail reports that over Easter, French Chef Marc Guilbert,  will be offering guests tips on how to cook with chocolate at the Lindeth Howe Hotel, formally owned by Beatrix Potter. 
  • The Lake District's links to the Olympic games in 2012 is being promoted by local tourism and development chiefs. The Westmorland Gazette says that they want to persuade the Olympic organising committe that the Lakes is a perfect place for training facilities for sports such as open water swimming, mountain biking and sailing. 
  • A Lakeland Trekking company, Community Action Treks based in Keswick, is through to the final three for a world tourism award. Although based in Cumbria, they have set up many grassroots projects in Nepal including piping clean water to villages and schools.The Cumbria Business Gazette
